No More Goodbyes

I received my copie(s) of Carol Lynn Pearson's new book, "No More Goodbyes - Circling the Wagons around our Gay Loved Ones". I was honored that she chose a small portion of my written article about my brother, Karry, to include in her book. Since I took on this "quest" as a straight woman willing to stand up for the gay community, I have been saddened by the amount of prejudice and hate that is evident when the subject of "gays" is on the table. My daughter said I needed to "back off" in my attempts to "change the world", because I was appearing to be a bit too obnoxious on the subject. Nevertheless, it is a subject that has occupied my thoughts and heart. The book is a wonderful way to read about gays who have died, gays who chose to live their lives as gays and families that have accepted/rejected them, and those gays that are shunned and continue to suffer because of their church's (particularly the LDS Church) political stance against homosexuality.
